(3) Prepare the IDS for the software part number check:
(a)
Set the INBD CRT switch on the captain's display transfer module to the EICAS position. 1) Make sure the captain's inboard IDU shows the EICAS
secondary engine format.
(b)
Set the INBD CRT switch on the first officer's display transfer module to the EICAS position. 1) Make sure the first officer's inboard IDU shows the EICAS
secondary engine format.
(c)
Set the EIU switch on the captain's source select module to the L position.
(d)
Set the EIU SEL switch on the EICAS control panel/FMC switch to the C position.
(e)
Set the EIU switch on the first officer's source select module to the R position.

(4) Install the IDS software in the replacement EIU if an IDU screen is empty (AMM 31-61-10/201).
NOTE: The replacement EIU has the incorrect software or no

software, if an IDU screen is empty.

(5) Prepare the CDU for the test (Figures 401 and 402):
(a)
Push the MENU key on the CDU to show the MENU.
(b)
Push the line select key (LSK) that is adjacent to <CMC to show the CMC MENU.
(c)
If <RETURN shows after you push the LSK, push the LSK that is adjacent to <RETURN until you see the CMC MENU.
(d)
Push the LSK that is adjacent to <EICAS MAINT PAGES to show the EICAS MAINT PAGES menu.
(e)
Push the NEXT PAGE key until you find <31 CONFIG.
(f)
Push the LSK adjacent to <31 CONFIG to show the EICAS PAGE CONTROL menu.

(6) Push the LSK adjacent to <DISPLAY to show the CONFIG page.
(a) Make sure the CONFIG page is shown on the inboard IDUs, and the lower IDU.
