Supply electrical power (AMM 24-22-00/201).

Show the EIU shop faults, for the EIU that you will remove, on the CDU:

 NOTE: The <31 INDICATING/WARNING shop LRU menu and the shop fault
____ data pages may not be shown when selected. Also the previous or the next page when selected by the PREV or NEXT PAGE keys on the CDU may not be shown. If this occurs select the <RETURN prompt key to go back one page, and then continue to make selections in a normal manner to get to the menu that you need.
 (a)  
Push the <OTHER FUNCTIONS LSK (line select key) on the CMC menu.

 (b)  
Push the <SHOP FAULTS LSK on the other functions menu.

 (c)  
Push the <31 INDICATING/WARNING LSK on the shop faults menu.

 (d)  
Push the <IDS-EIU-L, <IDS-EIU-C, or <IDS-EIU-R LSK to see the shop faults for the left, center, or right EIU.

____ shop faults data for an EIU again and again. If this occurs no maintenance action is required and the fault may be ignored.

 (1)  Open the circuit breaker for the EIU you will replace and attach a DO-NOT-CLOSE tag:
 (a)  P7, Overhead Circuit Breaker Panel
 1) 7F9, EIU L
 2) 7F10, EIU C
 3) 7F15, EIU R

 CAUTION: DO NOT TOUCH THE CONNECTOR PINS OR OTHER CONDUCTORS ON THE
_______ EFIS/EICAS INTERFACE UNIT (EIU). IF YOU TOUCH THESE CONDUCTORS, ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE FROM YOUR BODY CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE EIU.
 (2)  Remove the EIU from the electronic equipment rack
 (AMM 20-11-22/401).
