(4) Do a test of the brightness control of the IDUs:
(a)
Adjust the BRT UPR control knob on the EICAS control panel/FMC switch clockwise and counterclockwise. 1) Make sure the upper IDU becomes brighter when you adjust
the knob clockwise. 2) Make sure the upper IDU becomes dimmer when you adjust the knob counterclockwise.
(b)
Adjust the outer BRT LWR control knob on the EICAS control panel/FMC switch clockwise and counterclockwise. 1) Make sure the lower IDU becomes brighter when you adjust
the knob clockwise. 2) Make sure the lower IDU becomes dimmer when you adjust the knob counterclockwise.
(c)
Adjust the OUTBD CRT control knob on the captain's lighting control panel clockwise and counterclockwise. 1) Make sure the captain's outboard IDU becomes brighter when
you adjust the knob clockwise. 2) Make sure the captain's outboard IDU becomes dimmer when you adjust the knob counterclockwise.
(d)
Adjust the outer INBD CRT control knob on the captain's lighting control panel clockwise and counterclockwise. 1) Make sure the captain's inboard IDU becomes brighter when
you adjust the knob clockwise. 2) Make sure the captain's inboard IDU becomes dimmer when you adjust the knob counterclockwise.

Set the GND TESTS switch on the P461 panel to the NORM position.

Set the EEC MAINT ENG POWER 1, 2, 3, and 4, switches on the overhead maintenance panel, P461, to the NORM position.

Remove electrical power if it is not necessary (AMM 24-22-00/201).
