(b) Direct analog inputs such as cabin pressure controller status and outflow valve position are processed for display on the EICAS ECS synoptic format.
(5)
Digital data is received by the EIUs from the Air Supply and Control Test Unit (ASCTU).
(a)
Discrete data such as bleed isolation valve status and bleed flow is processed for display on the EICAS ECS synoptic format.
(b)
Data for duct pressure is processed for display on the EICAS primary and compacted formats, and the EICAS ECS synoptic format.
(c)
Input data such as engine duct pressure, precooler output temperature and manifold pressure is processed for display on the EICAS ECS (air supply and cabin pressure system) maintenance format.
(6)
The data obtained from the interface is also processed by the EIUs for the generation of EICAS crew alerting and status messages.
G. Engine Interface (Fig. 68)
(1)
Digital information such as EPR, EGT, rotor speeds, thrust reverser position, engine rating and oil data is received by the EIUs on ARINC 429 data buses from the Electronic Engine Controllers (EECs). This data is processed for display on the EICAS primary, secondary and compacted formats, and the EICAS performance, EPCS, engine exceedance and configuration maintenance formats.
(2)
Digital data for engine vibration is received by the EIUs on an ARINC 429 data bus from the Airborne Vibration Monitor (AVM). This data is processed for display on the EICAS secondary engine parameter format and the EICAS performance maintenance format.
(3)
Analog signals are also received by the EIUs at the engine interface. These direct analog inputs are processed by the EIUs for display on EICAS, and for the generation of EICAS crew alerting and status messages.
H. Surface Position System Interface (Fig. 69)
(1) Digital surface position data for the upper and lower rudder, elevators, ailerons and spoilers is received by the EIUs on ARINC 429 data buses from the Surface Position Digitizers (SPDs). This data is processed for display on the EICAS status format.
