CANC Switch Used to cancel displayed caution/advisory messages on the main EICAS. If there are more than 11 messages, a PAGE 1 annunciator is displayed below the main EICAS messages field. Repeat depression of the CANC switch causes the next page of messages to be displayed until the message field is cleared of caution/advisory messages. For engine redline exceedance indications, the CANC switch is used to change the red color of a digital readout box to white if the exceedance no longer exists.

RCL Switch Recalls only caution/advisory messages if the fault conditions which caused the messages still exist. While the RCL switch is pressed, the message RECALL is displayed below the main EICAS message field. Upon release of the RCL switch, the message RECALL will remain for one second before it is removed. If an engine exceedance has previously occurred, depression of the RCL switch will change the color of the engine parameter readout box from white to red.

During a degraded display condition (only one EICAS DU available), depression of the STAT, ELEC, ECS, HYD, or DRS switch causes no response. If the ENG switch is pressed, either a EICAS compacted-full or EICAS compacted-partial format is displayed. If the FUEL switch is pressed, an EICAS compacted-full with a mini fuel format is displayed. If the GEAR switch is pressed, an EICAS compacted-full with a mini brake temperature format is displayed.

If the EICAS display select panel fails, the CDU can perform as an alternate EICAS display select panel.
E. EICAS Control Panel/FMC Switch (Fig. 1 and 6)
(1) The EICAS control panel/FMC switch is located above the main EICAS on the P2-4 panel. It consists of the following controls:
(a)
Brightness Controls The UPR BRT control is used to manually adjust the brightness of the main EICAS display. The LWR BRT control has an outer and an inner knob. The outer knob adjusts the brightness of the auxiliary EICAS display. The inner knob adjusts the raster level on the auxiliary EICAS display when it is used as an ND.
(b)
EVENT RCD Switch The EVENT RCD switch records a snapshot for each EICAS maintenance page. You access the recorded EICAS maintenance pages through a CMCS menu from any CDU.

EIU SEL Switch
1) The switch has four positions: L, AUTO, C, and R. The L, C and R switch positions are for manually selecting the L, C or R EIU to provide data to the EICAS display units. When the switch is in the AUTO position, the left EIU provides data to the EICAS display units. If the left EIU fails, the center and right EIUs have first and second priority, respectively, to replace the left EIU.
(d)
HDG Switch
1) Connects directly to all three EIUs, both FMCs, and to the left and right CDUs. The heading switch selects the EFIS, FMCs, and CDUs to true or magnetic heading (Ref 34-61-00/001).

(e) FMC Switch
1) Through relays controlled by the FMC switch, the FMCs provide data signals to the radio navigation systems, autoflight system and the electronic engine control system. The FMC switch selects these data signals from FMC left or FMC right (Ref 34-61-00/001). The switch does not switch data signals to the IDS.
F. Display Transfer Module (Fig. 1)
(1)
Two display transfer modules provide manual control for the integrated display unit switching. The PFD format, however, automatically replaces the display on the inboard integrated display unit whenever the outboard display unit fails. If the main integrated display unit fails, the EICAS primary format automatically replaces the display on the auxiliary display unit. This automatic switching overrides the manual switching from the display transfer switches. (Fig. 7)
