E. The EICAS is the integration of the engine indicators and the caution and warning system. The EICAS consists of a main EICAS display unit and an auxiliary EICAS display unit. The main EICAS presents the primary engine data and crew alerting messages. The auxiliary EICAS presents either secondary engine data, maintenance pages, synoptic displays, or a status format.
F. The Integrated Display System (IDS) consists of the following components: Six Integrated Display Units (IDUs), three EFIS/EICAS Interface Units (EIUs), two EFIS Control Panels (EFIS CPs), an EICAS Display Select Panel (DSP), an EICAS Control Panel/FMC switch, two Display Transfer Modules, two Source Select Modules, and two Remote Light Sensors.
2. System Interface

A. Data is transmitted to the IDS from many airplane systems. The data is received by IDS through the EFIS/EICAS Interface Units (EIUs). The EIUs process incoming system data and then format the data for display on EFIS and EICAS. (Fig. 2)
