 (b)  
Adjust the outer INBD CRT control knob clockwise and counterclockwise. 1) Make sure the inboard IDU becomes brighter when you adjust

 the knob clockwise. 2) Make sure the inboard IDU becomes dimmer when you adjust the knob counterclockwise.

 (c)  
Set the ND mode selector switch on the captain's EFIS control panel to the MAP position.

 (d)  
Push the WXR switch on the captain's EFIS control panel to the ON position.

 (e)  
Set the mode selector switch on the control panel for the weather radar to the TEST position.


 CAUTION: WHEN THE WEATHER RADAR TRANSMITS RF ENERGY, MAKE SURE
_______ THERE ARE NO LARGE METAL OBJECTS IN AN AREA 300 FEET OR LESS AND IN A 180-DEGREE SECTOR IN FRONT OF THE AIRPLANE. IF LARGE METAL OBJECTS ARE IN THIS AREA WITH THESE CONDITIONS, DAMAGE TO THE WEATHER RADAR RECEIVER CAN OCCUR.
 (f)

 adjust the knob clockwise. 2) Make sure the inboard IDU raster becomes dimmer when you adjust the knob counterclockwise.

 (g)

 (2)  Do a test of the first officer's lighting control panel:
 (a)  
Adjust the OUTBD CRT control knob clockwise and counterclockwise. 1) Make sure the outboard IDU becomes brighter when you adjust

 the knob clockwise. 2) Make sure the outboard IDU becomes dimmer when you adjust the knob counterclockwise.

 (b)  
Adjust the outer INBD CRT control knob clockwise and counterclockwise. 1) Make sure the inboard IDU becomes brighter when you adjust

 the knob clockwise. 2) Make sure the inboard IDU becomes dimmer when you adjust the knob counterclockwise.

 (c)  
Set the ND mode selector switch on the first officer's EFIS control panel to the MAP position.

 (d)  
Push the WXR switch on the captain's EFIS control panel to the ON position.

 (e)  
Set the mode selector switch on the control panel for the weather radar to the TEST position.

 (3) Remove electrical power if it is not necessary (AMM 24-22-00/201).
 N.  IDS Local and Remote Light Sensor Test
 S 735-836
 (1)  Do a test of the light sensors:
 (a)  
Apply black tape to the left remote light sensors on the captain's glare shield.

 (b)  
Apply black tape to the right remote light sensors on the first officer's glare shield.

 (c)  
Apply black tape to the local light sensor, found on the bottom of the IDU, on all six IDUs.

 (d)  
Adjust the INBD CRT and the OUTBD CRT knobs on the captain's lighting control panel to approximately middle range.

 (e)  
Adjust the INBD CRT and the OUTBD CRT knobs on the first officer's lighting control panel to approximately middle range.

 (f)  
Adjust the BRT UPR and the BRT LWR knobs on the EICAS control panel/FMC switch to approximately middle range.

 (g)  
Open these circuit breakers:

 1)  P7 Overhead circuit breaker panel a) 7F8, UPR EICAS b) 7F12, ND L c) 7F13, PFD L d) 7F14, LWR EICAS e) 7F17, ND R f) 7F18, PFD R
