Pull down on the IDU's handle until it is approximately 90 degrees from the front of the display.
(c)
Move the control column, if it is necessary, to remove the PFD or ND from the instrument panel.
CAUTION: DO NOT TOUCH THE CONNECTOR PINS OR OTHER CONDUCTORS ON THE
_______ IDU. IF YOU TOUCH THESE CONDUCTORS, ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE FROM YOUR BODY CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE IDU.
(d)
Carefully pull the IDU from the instrument panel.
(e)
Install dust caps on the electrical connectors.

(1) Make sure the circuit breaker for the IDU you install is open with a DO-NOT-CLOSE tag attached:

AND THRUST REVERSERS CAN MOVE QUICKLY WHEN YOU MOVE THE CONTROL
COLUMN. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO
EQUIPMENT.

Make sure hydraulic power is removed from the flight controls before you move the control column (AMM 29-11-00/201).

Install the IDU:
CAUTION: DO NOT TOUCH THE CONNECTOR PINS OR OTHER CONDUCTORS ON THE
_______ INTEGRATED DISPLAY UNIT (IDU). IF YOU TOUCH THESE CONDUCTORS, ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE FROM YOUR BODY CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE IDU.
(a)
Remove the dust caps from the electrical connectors.
(b)
Examine the unit's electrical connectors for loose, bent, or broken pins.
(c)
Examine the airplane electrical connector for blockage.
(d)
Make sure the two retainer springs are installed in the sides of the IDU cavity.
NOTE: The IDU may become disconnected if the retainer springs
____ are not installed.
(e)
Move the control column, if it is necessary, to install the PFD or ND in the instrument panel.
(f)
Make sure you pull the handle to a position that is below the horizontal position.
(g)
Move the IDU carefully into the opening of the instrument panel.
(h)
Move the IDU's handle to the full-up position until the handle is flat against the hinged mounting assembly. 1) Make sure that, at a minimum, one hook fully engages the
guide pin.

CAUTION:
HANDLE DISPLAY UNIT SIDE VIEW
WHEN THE FASTENING SCREWS ARE LOOSENED OR TIGHTENED, PUSH THE HANDLE FIRMLY AGAINST THE FRONT OF THE DISPLAY UNIT, TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE HINGED MOUNTING ASSEMBLY OR DAMAGE TO THE FASTENING SCREWS.
