 (4)  Erase Latched Status Messages
 (a)  General 1) There are three methods which may be used to erase latched status level EICAS messages.
 2)  The first method erases individual messages. This method is performed using the ERASE> prompt located on the CMCS PRESENT LEG FAULTS menu.
 3)  The second method is a bulk erase feature which erases all latched messages. This method is performed using the <ERASE STATUS prompt on the CMCS PRESENT LEG FAULTS menu.
 4)  The third method is an alternate method to the above bulk erase feature, and is to be used only if no CMCs are installed on the airplane. To access the alternate bulk erase feature, the following conditions must be met:
 -No CMCs Installed or both CMC circuit breakers (414L8 and 415L39) open
 -Airplane on the ground
 -Last page of EICAS status messages displayed.
 (b)  Individual Message Erase (Fig. 205)
 1)  Press the STAT key on the EICAS Display Select Panel (DSP). Make sure the EICAS status format is displayed on the auxiliary Display Unit.
 2)  Select the status message which is to be erased. If more than one page of status messages exist, press the STAT key on the EICAS DSP to view subsequent pages.
 3)  Access the CMCS PRESENT LEG FAULTS menu. a) Press the MENU key on the CDU. Make sure the CDU MENU page is displayed. b) Press the line select key (LSK) next to <CMC. Make sure the CMC MENU is displayed.
 NOTE: If the CMC MENU page is not displayed, press the
____ LSK next to the <RETURN prompt as necessary to display the CMC MENU.
 c)  If CMC MENU page 1/2 is not displayed, press the NEXT PAGE key on the CDU. Make sure CMC MENU page 1/2 is displayed.

 d) Select <PRESENT LEG FAULTS from the CMC MENU. Make sure the PRESENT LEG FAULTS menu page is displayed. 4) Locate the selected flight deck effect (status message) on the PRESENT LEG FAULTS menu page.
 NOTE: Press the NEXT PAGE key on the CDU as necessary to
____
 locate the status message.

 5)  Observe and note the eight digit FRM code above the message. Perform corrective action for the status message per the FIM Fault Code Index.
 6)  Press the LSK next to the ERASE> prompt located to the right of the selected flight deck effect. Make sure the status message is removed from the EICAS status format.
 (c) Bulk Message Erase (Fig. 206) 1) Press the STAT key on the EICAS Display Select Panel (DSP). Make sure the EICAS status format is displayed on the auxiliary Display Unit.
