(i) Remove the black tape from the left remote light sensor.
(j) Point the flashlight into the left remote light sensor.
1) Make sure these IDUs become brighter:
a) captain's PFD
b) captain's ND
c) primary EICAS
d) auxiliary EICAS.
(k) Cover the left remote light sensor with the black tape.
(l) Remove the black tape from the right remote light sensor.
1) Make sure these IDUs become brighter:
a) first officer's PFD
b) first officer's ND.
(m) Cover the right remote light sensor with the black tape.
(n) Remove the black tape from the local light sensor of the
captain's PFD.
(o) Point the flashlight into the local light sensor on the
captain's PFD.
1) Make sure the captain's PFD becomes brighter.
(p) Remove the black tape from the local light sensor of the
captain's ND.
(q) Point the flashlight into the local light sensor on the
captain's ND.
1) Make sure the captain's ND becomes brighter.
(r) Remove the black tape from the local light sensor of the first
officer's PFD.
(s) Point the flashlight into the local light sensor on the first
officer's PFD.
1) Make sure the first officer's PFD becomes brighter.
(t) Remove the black tape from the local light sensor of the first
officer's ND.

Point the flashlight into the local light sensor on the first officer's ND. 1) Make sure the first officer's ND becomes brighter.
(v)
Remove the black tape from the local light sensor of the primary EICAS IDU.
(w)
Point the flashlight into the local light sensor on the primary EICAS IDU. 1) Make sure the primary EICAS IDU becomes brighter.
(x)
Remove the black tape from the local light sensor of the auxiliary EICAS IDU.
(y)
Point the flashlight into the local light sensor on the auxiliary EICAS IDU. 1) Make sure the auxiliary EICAS IDU becomes brighter.
(z)
Remove the black tape from the left and right remote light sensors.

(2) Remove electrical power if it is not necessary (AMM 24-22-00/201).
O. IDU Test

Set the GND TESTS switch on the overhead maintenance panel, P461, to the ENABLE position.

Set the EEC MAINT ENG POWER 1, 2, 3, and 4, switches on the overhead maintenance panel, P461, to the TEST position.

Prepare the CDU for the test:
(a)
Push the MENU key on the CDU to show the MENU.
(b)
Push the line select key (LSK) that is adjacent to <CMC to show the CMC MENU.
(c)
If <RETURN shows after you push the LSK, push the LSK that is adjacent to <RETURN until you see the CMC MENU.
(d)
Push the LSK that is adjacent to <GROUND TESTS to show the GROUND TESTS menu.
(e)
Push the NEXT PAGE key until you find <31 INDICATING/WARNING.
(f)
Push the LSK key adjacent to <31 INDICATING/WARNING to show the GROUND TESTS menu for the integrated display system.
