E. Install the 4th-Stage LPT Blade in a Different Location (Fig. 801)

(1) Open the left and right fan cowl panel (AMM 71-11-02/201).

Open the left and right thrust reverser (AMM 78-31-00/201).

Remove the turbine exhaust sleeve (AMM 78-11-01/401).

Examine the abradable (honeycomb) material on the 4th-stage LPT for damage (AMM 72-00-00/601).

CAUTION: YOU MUST DO THIS REPAIR CAREFULLY TO PREVENT THE PERMANENT
_______ DEFORMATION OF THE BLADES. DO NOT USE METAL TOOLS ON THE BLADES, DAMAGE TO THE BLADES CAN OCCUR.
(5) Carefully apply a circumferential force with your hand to the airfoil surfaces of the shingled blades to move them apart.
NOTE: If your hand force is not sufficient, you can push the
____ shingled blade into its position with a piece of non-metallic material.

Make sure the circumferential clearances between the blade
interlocks are equally applied around the circumference.

Make sure the rotor turns freely.
(a) If the rotor does not turn freely, replace the engine (Ref 71-00-02/401).

Install the turbine exhaust sleeve (AMM 78-11-01/401).

3. Broken Angle Bracket for the Aft Flange Replacement___________________________________________________
A. General
(1)
To replace an angled bracket, you must grind off the head of the rivet that attaches the bracket to the aft flange.
(2)
The rivet must be replaced at the next maintenance inspection.
(3)
For this procedure the LPT cooling air manifold will be referred to as the manifold.
(4)
For this procedure the LPT cooling tube supports will be referred to as the supports.
