From an abradable liner P/N 335-013-305-6, prepare a patch approximately 0.4 inch (10 mm) longer than the full length of the area to be repaired.

Trim both ends of the patch with a scalpel so that the patch fits correctly with the adjacent edges of the sound liner shroud.

Use a 80 or 120 grade adhesive cloth to make the surface of the convex surface of the patch rough (CP2239).

Use one of these two procedures to apply primer and to prepare the adhesive compound, as follows:
NOTE: The primer/adhesive combinations available for this repair

Primer MB (CP2340) and adhesive compound RTV 147A (CP2297) and RTV 147B (CP2298)

Primer SS 4155 (CP22215) and adhesive compound RTV 630, Parts A and B (CP2339)
It is necessary to apply only one primer/adhesive combination for this repair.
(a) To use primer MB (CP2340) and adhesive compound RTV 147A (CP2297) and RTV 147B (CP2298), do the steps that follow: 1) Apply primer MB (CP2340) on the fan case, at the location
of the patch, as follows:

CAUTION: MAKE SURE THE AREA IS FULLY CLEAN AND FREE OF
_______ OILY DEPOSITS. DO NOT APPLY TOO MUCH PRIMER. THIS WOULD DECREASE THE ADHERENCE OF THE PATCH TO THE FAN CASE. NEVER TOUCH THE PRIMER ONCE IT IS APPLIED.
a) Use a lint-free cloth or clean paint brush to apply primer MB (CP2340) on the roughened surface of the case.
b) Allow the primer to dry at room temperature for one (1) hour. 2) Prepare the adhesive compound of base RTV 147A (CP2297) and hardener RTV 147B (CP2298) as follows:

_______ THE BASE AND HARDENER. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS PRECAUTION, INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT CAN OCCUR.
a) Mix, by weight, 10 parts of the hardener RTV 147B (CP2298) and 100 parts of the base RTV 147A (CP2297).
NOTE: The preparation is made at room temperature.

b) Slowly mix the base and hardener to prevent air bubbles in the mixture. c) Stir the mixture manually or mechanically until you get a homogeneous compound. d) Make sure the compound contains no visible air bubbles.
NOTE: The compound has a pot-life of approximately
