 C.  The shaft midlength bearing provides proper centering of the radial drive shaft in its housing. Its inner race is mounted half-way up on the radial drive shaft, and the outer race is part of the radial drive shaft housing.
 3.  Transfer Gearbox (Fig. 1)

 A.  The TGB assembly is installed on the left side of fan frame at the 9 o'clock position. It consists of the housing and a set of two bevel gears.
 B.  The TGB housing is made of aluminum alloy. It is secured to the fan frame with four attachment bolts. The upper part of the TGB housing has a centering bearing housing which engages the fan frame adapter. The TGB housing accommodates three oil nozzles for lubrication of the bevel gear drive and bearings.
 C.  The upper part of the TGB houses the input bevel gear which includes the bearing housing, ball bearing, roller bearing and bevel gear. The bore of this bevel gear is splined at its upper end and connects with the radial drive shaft. An oil distributor installed inside the bevel gear and secured by the Spirolock system ensures oil distribution and axial retention of the radial drive shaft.
 D.  The horizontal part of the TGB houses the horizontal bevel gear which includes the bearing housing, ball bearing, roller bearing and bevel gear. The bore of this bevel gear is splined at its upper end and connects with the horizontal drive shaft. An oil distributor installed inside the bevel gear and secured by the Spirolock system ensures oil distribution.

4.  Horizontal Drive Shaft (Fig. 1)

 A.  The horizontal drive shaft assembly provides power transmission between the TGB and AGB. It includes the horizontal drive shaft housing, and horizontal drive shaft.
 B.  The horizontal drive shaft housing is made of steel alloy. It is fitted with a sliding sleeve made of aluminum alloy. The housing and sleeve protect the horizontal drive shaft and the bevel gear assembly. The horizontal drive shaft housing is bolted to the TGB housing and the sliding sleeve ensures connection with the AGB through a clamp and an adapter.
