(b) If you can not remove the borescope plug, the engine is not serviceable. 1) A maximum service extension of 10 cycles is permitted.

(6) Install the 3rd-stage borescope plug as follows:
(a)
Apply a light layer of grease (CP2101) on the borescope plug threads and the mating surfaces.
(b)
Clean the borescope port threads with a soft wire brush.
(c)
Install the plug in the port.
CAUTION: WHEN YOU INSTALL THE BORESCOPE PLUG, DO NOT APPLY MORE
_______ THAN THE GIVEN TORQUE. DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE CAN OCCUR.
(d) Tighten the plug to 57-63 pound-inches (6.4-7.1 Newton meters).
NOTE: If the plug does not install and seat correctly,
____ remove the plug and examine it for unwanted contamination.
(e) Install lockwire to the plug.
H. LPT Ring Sector Support Inspection

(1) Examine the support for cracks (Fig. 601):
(a) All cracks on the parts are permitted if they are attached and connected.
I. Angle Brackets on the LPT Case Inspection

(1) Examine the angle brackets for broken brackets (Fig. 601):
(a)
Brackets that are broken are not serviceable.
(b)
Replace the broken brackets in 30 hours or 30 cycles (AMM 72-54-00/801).
J. Cooling Air Manifold Inspection

(1) Examine the manifold for forward or aft mounting lugs that are cracked or broken (Fig. 601):
(a) One crack for each lug, not more than 0.2 inch (5.1 mm) in length is permitted.

0.2 inch (5.1 mm) in length.

(2) Examine the manifold for cracks in the sheet metal (Fig. 601):
(a) All cracks are permitted if they are not more than 0.50 inch
(12.70) mm) in length, with a maximum cumulative length of
3.0 inches (76.0 mm) and with a minimum distance of 1.0 inch
(25.4 mm) between each crack.

(3) Examine the manifold for dents (Fig. 601):
(a) All dents are permitted if they are not more than 0.030 inch
(0.80 mm) in depth with a smooth contour.
K. Tube Supports for the Cooling Air Tubes Inspection

(1) Examine the tube supports for cracks at the mounting flanges (Fig. 601):
(a) All cracks are permitted if the supports are connected.

(a) All cracks are permitted if the tubes and fasteners are connected.
L. Heat Shield Inspection

(1) Examine for broken heat shields (Fig. 601):

Broken heat shields are not serviceable.
(b)
Replace the heat shield before 30 hours or 30 cycles (AMM 72-54-00/801).

(2) Examine the heat shield for cracks at the mounting flanges:
(a) All cracks are permitted if the heat shield is connected.
