(1) Open the left and right fan cowl panel (AMM 71-11-02/201).

(2) Open the left and right thrust reverser (AMM 78-31-00/201).

(3) Remove the bolt and the clamp from the oil scavenge tube. (a) The clamp is found on the LPT frame at the No. 5 and 6 strut positions.

(4) Remove the lockwire and bolts that hold the bracket and blanking plug.

(5) Remove the bracket.

(6) Install the bracket as follows: (a) Apply a light layer of grease (CP2101) to the bracket bolts. (b) Make sure the blanking plug is in its correct position. (c) Put the bracket in its correct position. (d) Install the bolts. 1) Torque the bolts to 95-105 pound-inches (11.0-12.0 Newton meters). (e) Install the lockwire on the bracket bolts.

(7) Install the clamp to the oil scavenge tube as follows (Fig. 805): (a) Apply a light layer of grease (CP2101) to the bolt. (b) Install the bolt and the clamp on the tube and bracket. 1) Torque the bolt to 55-60 pound-inches (6.0-7.0 Newton meters).

4. Studs for the LPT Frame Strut Replacement

A. General
(1)
You can use this procedure to temporarily replace one or two studs without removal of the engine from the airplane.
(2)
This repair is permitted without special inspections or restrictions for as long as the engine stays on the airplane.
(3)
When the engine is removed from the airplane, the studs must be repaired using the CFMI Shop Manual before you install the engine on an airplane again.
