Open the left fan cowl panel (AMM 71-11-02/201).

Do a check of the AGB/TGB magnetic chip detector (MCD) for pieces of aluminum.
(a) If you find pieces of aluminum, remove the TGB oil nozzle.
NOTE: The TGB oil nozzle lubricates the bearing in the

horizontal drive shaft.
1) Remove the oil nozzle plug that attaches the oil nozzle to
the TGB housing. 2) Use the puller to remove the oil nozzle from the TGB. 3) Examine the oil nozzle for wear as follows:
a) If you find wear on the nozzle tip, the vespel nut has become unscrewed and has caused damaged to the nozzle tip.
1. Replace the TGB (AMM 72-62-01/401).

b) If there is no wear on the oil nozzle, install the flexible borescope through the TGB oil nozzle hole and make sure the vespel nut is correctly attached.
1. If the nut is not damaged, install the oil nozzle
_ and the oil nozzle plug with new O-rings. Tighten the bolts to 97-106 pound-inches (11-12 N.m.).

(3) If not already done, do a check of the AGB/TGB magnetic chip
detector and the scavenge screen for pieces of broken tabs.
(a) If you find pieces of broken tabs, do a borescope inspection of the tab washer from the horizontal bevel gear as follows: 1) Release the V-clamp that attaches the sleeve for the
horizontal drive shaft to the AGB. a) To remove tha clamp, remove the self-locking nut. 2) Apply a layer of engine oil to the housing of the horizontal drive shaft. 3) Move the sleeve and spacer rearward until they touch the expanded area of the housing.
