FAN OUTLET GUIDE VANES AND SEALS - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General
_______
A. This procedure has these tasks:
(1)
The removal of the fan outlet guide vanes (OGV) and their seals
(2)
The installation of the fan outlet guide vanes (OGV) and their seals.
B. The 80 OGV's are found in the secondary airflow between the fan blades and the fan frame struts.
C. There are two types of OGV's; composite and aluminum. All OGV's are interchangeable with each other.

D. Remove the OGV's

(1)
COMPOSITE OGV'S (ENGINES WITH CFMI SB 72-713); Remove the two bolts and two washers that attach each OGV outer platform to the fan inlet case.
S 034-012-C00
(2)
ALUMINUM OGV'S (ENGINES WITH AND WITHOUT CFMI SB 72-796); Remove the two bolts and two saddles that attach each OGV outer platform to the fan inlet case.
S 024-004-C00
(3)
Remove the OGV.
(a)
Lower the OGV inner platform down into the aft fairing recess on the splitter fairing.
