 If the Kevlar 49 mat is cut into strips, you must apply a RTV topcoat material (filled or unfilled) to the area of overlap until the plies are bonded.
 b)  Do not cover the fastener collars with the Kevlar mat unless the thickness of MA-25S insulation is equivalent or greater than the collar length and a smooth appearance will result.
 c)  The Kevlar mat can be removed from the fastener lines if the width of the area which is not covered by the mat is not more than 1-1/4 inches.
 d)  It is not necessary to cover areas smaller than 1-1/4 inch x 1-1/4 inch with the mat.
 5)  Use a spray gun to apply a last layer of fiber-filled RTV 560 topcoat material to a thickness of 0.01-0.02 inch (0.25-0.51 mm) to all areas with MA-25S insulation.

(b)  To seal the collars with RTV560 or RTV106 (Optional Method), follow these steps:
 NOTE: This procedure will use a brush to seal the repair
____ area and collar with a layer of RTV560 or RTV106 to a depth of 0.063-0.093 inches (1.60-2.36 mm).
 1)  Do these steps to clean the repair area:
 a)  Use 180 grit or finer aluminum oxide paper or Scotchbrite pads to lightly sand the surface until the surface gloss is removed.
 b) Remove the sanding dust with clean, compressed air. c) Use clean wipes to wipe the area clean.
 WARNING: DO NOT GET THE METHYL ETHYL KETONE (MEK) IN YOUR
_______ MOUTH, EYES, OR ON YOUR SKIN. DO NOT BREATE THE FUMES FROM MEK. PUT ON A PROTECTIVE SPLASH GOGGLE AND GLOVES WHEN YOU USE MEK. KEEP MEK AWAY FROM SPARKS, FLAMES, AND HIGH TEMPERATURES. MEK IS A POISONOUS AND FLAMMABLE SOLVENT WHICH CAN CAUSE INJURIES TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
 d) Clean the repair areas with Methyl-Ethyl-Ketone (MEK). e) Use clean-wipes to make the surface dry before the solvent dries. f) Make sure you apply the primer and coating before the next 12 hours.
 2)  Do these steps to apply the primer to the repair area: a) Apply an equal layer of primer to make the surface wet. b) Dry the primer for 30 minutes at 75|10°F. c) The maximum cure time before you can apply a top layer
 over the primer is two hours at 50 percent (or greater) percent and four hours at 30 to 49 percent humidity. 3) Do these steps to mix the RTV560 or RTV106: a) Use the Thermolyte-12 (Dibutyl-Tin-Dilaurate) as the catalyst for the sealant.
 NOTE: Refer to Table 401 for the correct
____ concentrations of the catalyst that can be used and its pot life and cure times.
