you get a homogeneous coat approximately 0.01 inch (0.25 mm) thick.
(b)
Apply a thin layer of compound on the convex side of the patch, in the same way as above.
S 348-073-C00
(11) Carefully put the patch in place in the fan case (Fig. 803).
(a) Apply one end of the patch first, then the other to keep air
from being caught under the patch.

(12)
Apply the release film (CP2505) installed patch (Fig. 803).
S 348-114-C00
(13)
Install the heating blanket and the pressure pad as follows (Fig. 803):
(a)
Place the heating blanket correctly over the patch and hold it in position with the pressure pad.
(b)
Attach the pressure pad to the fan case with the locally manufactured clamps. Attach the clamps with slave bolts.
(c)
Tighten the slave bolts by hand but make sure the heating blanket is still free to move.
(d)
Adjust the respective position of the tooling (heating blanket, pressure pad, clamps and bolts).
(e)
Tighten the slave bolts again until the heating blanket can no longer move under the pressure pad.
S 348-115-C00
CAUTION:_______DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN THE SLAVE BOLTS. THE PRESSURIZATION OF THE PRESSURE PAD INFLATABLE JACKET IS SUFFICIENT TO HOLD THE TOOLING CORRECTLY IN PLACE AND PROVIDE FOR A GOOD BONDING OF THE PATCH. IT DOES SO WITHOUT UNDUE STRESSES ON THE ACOUSTICAL PANEL ANCHOR NUTS WHICH RETAIN THE SLAVE BOLTS.
(14)
Connect the air supply valve to a pressure source and inflate the jacket at 14.5 psi (100 kPa) as shown on the pressure gage.
S 348-075-C00
(15)
Connect the heating blanket to the thermally-controlled electrical supply.
S 348-076-C00
CAUTION:_______THE ACOUSTICAL PANELS ARE SENSITIVE TO TEMPERATURE. THE PROPERTIES OF THE EPOXY RESIN THEY CONTAIN CAN BE ALTERED BY TEMPERATURES HIGHER THAN 230° F (110°C).
(16) Set the maximum temperature of the thermally-controlled system to 212°F (100°C).

(17) Allow the compound to cure for 1 hour and 45 minutes. During the curing cycle, make sure that the pressure remains the same on the pressure gage. (Fig. 804).
NOTE: The thermocouple attached to the heating blanket
____ indicates the temperature at the blanket. The real temperature at the adhesive compound is approximately 36°F (20°C) lower than that at the heating blanket. The temperature becomes stable at the adhesive compound after a heating time of approximately 15 minutes.
S 088-078-C00
(18) After the curing cycle, remove the tooling and equipment as follows:
