F. Examine the Accessory Gearbox (AGB) for Leakage

Open the right and left fan cowl panels (AMM 71-11-02/201).

Remove the transfer gearbox (TGB) from the AGB (Fig. 501).
(a)
Remove the self-locking nut to the V-clamp that connects the sleeve for the horizontal drive shaft to the AGB.
(b)
Apply a light layer of engine oil to the housing for the horizontal drive shaft.
(c)
Move the sleeve aft to the fully retracted position to the housing for the horizontal drive shaft.
(d)
Remove the bolts and washers that attach the drive pad cover for the N2 rotor to the AGB housing.
(e)
Do these steps to remove the cover on the N2 drive pad: 1) Remove the lockwire and remove the 5 bolts that attach the
cover to the drive pad. 2) Move the cover until it is away from the drive pad.
NOTE: Do not remove the lanyard that attaches the
____ cover to the AGB.

3) Discard the two O-rings.
(f) Put the AGB locking adapter on the adapter that engages the
drive pad in the gear shaft.
1) Attach to the AGB housing with the locking bolts given.
CAUTION: THE LOCKING NUT OF THE HORIZONTAL DRIVE SHAFT HAS LEFT
_______ HAND THREADS. DO NOT APPLY A CLOCKWISE TORQUE TO THE NUTS AS DAMAGE TO THE DRIVE SHAFT CAN OCCUR.
(g)
Loosen the locking nuts for the horizontal drive shaft with a wrench (856A3604).
