 C.  The horizontal drive shaft is made of steel alloy. It is splined at both ends and drives the AGB gears through the control alternator driving gear.
 D.  The horizontal drive shaft is retained on the AGB control alternator driving gear by a hexagonal nut, threaded onto the gear shaft end and seated against a stop flange ring integrally machined on the shaft.

 A.  This procedure gives instructions when you remove and install the transfer gearbox.

Adapter, AGB Locking - 856A3509, CFM International,

 P.O. Box 15514, Cincinnati, OH 45215

 (2)  
Rig Pin No. 3 - C76001 (stored in fly-away kit located in electronics compartment [kit is secured to forward outboard leg of battery support]) or equivalent 0.248 (+0.000/-0.003) inch [6.30 (+0.00/-0.08) mm] diameter, 2.5 inch (64 mm) minimum length rod or bolt with warning streamer attached.

 (1)  Open the left fan cowl panel (AMM 71-11-02/201).

 WARNING: OBEY THE INSTRUCTIONS IN THE PROCEDURE TO OPEN THE THRUST
_______ REVERSERS. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THE INSTRUCTIONS, INJURIES TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT CAN OCCUR.
 (2)  
Open the left thrust reverser (AMM 78-31-00/201).

 (3)  
Loosen the three screws which attach the clamps with the thrust control cables to the brackets


 (a)  Open the clamps and remove the cables from the clamps.

 (4)  Do these steps to disconnect the throttle push-pull cable from the fuel control box (Fig. 401):
 (a)  Move the forward thrust lever until you can install the rig pin no. 3 in the hole with the mark 'R' on the fuel control box.
 NOTE: This puts the thrust lever at the 80° PLA position.

 1) This permits you to disconnect the cable.
 (b)  
Remove the two screws which attach the quick disconnect clamp for the throttle cable near the fuel control box.

 (c)  
Disconnect the throttle cable from the rack of the
 fuel control box.


 (d)  
Temporarily install the clamp again on the throttle cable.

 (e)  
Put the forward thrust lever in the idle position.
