Apply masking tape, that contains a lead adhesive, to the fan cowl panels for protection.

Remove all the loose rust on the fan frame with a cloth. S 168-006-C00

If the rust is still there, polish the struts (radially) and the hub with an abrasive cloth.

Put a layer of engine oil on the clean areas with a cloth or with a brush.

A. General
(1) This task refers to a procedure for the in-place repair of damage and grooves in the abradable shroud material.
NOTE:____Fill these areas with a base and hardener mixture. Smooth to the initial contour.
B. Equipment
(1)
Protective mats (two are necessary) - Rubber Manufacturer's Association, Grade SC43, Neoprene sponge, 1.0 inch thick, approximately 3.0 x 4.0 feet with warning streamer attached.

Scalpel - locally available
