(7) Examine the bellcrank assemblies (two locations) to the vane actuation system for damage:
(a)
Cracks in the bellcrank assembly are not serviceable.
1) Replace the engine (AMM 71-00-02/401).
(b)
There is no maximum number of nicks, pits, scores and scratches to all lengths that are more than 0.030 inch (0.80 mm) in depth after the removal of all burrs. 1) Replace the bellcrank assembly (AMM 75-31-03/401).

(8) On engines with 3rd-stage tie rods with one adjustable rod end, examine the spherical bearings for a loose ball in the race that is more than 0.010 inch (0.30 mm) in diameter.
NOTE: Spherical bearings are found at the connection of the tie rod

1. General_______
A. This procedure contains three tasks. The tasks are as follows:
(1)
Inlet guide vane and the lever arms and bushings on the 3rd-stage stator vane replacement
(2)
Bolts and nuts on the casing horizontal flange replacement
(3)
Actuation ring connectors for the VSV replacement.

2. Lever Arms and Bushings on the High Pressure Compressor (HPC) Stator Vanes -____________________________________________________________________________ Removal and Installation________________________
A. General
(1)
This procedure is for the lever arms and bushings to the inlet guide vane and the 3rd-stage stator vane.
(2)
The removal of the actuation rings (which are not LRU's) is necessary for the removal of the lever arm for the 1st- and 2nd-stage stator vane.
