(1) Do one of these applicable tasks to get access to the seal:
(a)
To remove the fuel pump, do this task: Fuel Pump Package Removal (AMM 73-11-01/401).
(b)
To remove the starter, do this task: Engine Starter Removal (AMM 80-11-01/401).

CAUTION:_______MAGNETIC SEALS ARE ALIGNED ASSEMBLIES. IF YOU CAUSE DAMAGE TO A COMPONENT OF THE SEAL, YOU MUST REPLACE ALL OF THE SEAL.
(2) Remove the magnetic seal:
(a)
Remove the three nuts and washers that attach the seal housing in the drive pad on the accessory gearbox (Fig. 201).
(b)
On the generator drive pad, remove the shroud from the gearbox gear shaft (Fig. 201).
(c)
Remove the seal housing and the static seal case with the
jackscrews (Fig. 201).
(d)
Remove the retaining ring that holds the static seal case in
the seal housing (Fig. 201).
(e)
Remove the static seal case from the seal housing (Fig. 201). 1) Remove and discard the O-ring from the seal case.

2) Remove and discard the O-ring from the outer diameter of the seal housing.
(f) Remove the rotating carbon ring with the applicable seal removal/installation tool (Fig. 202):
NOTE: Use the tool 856A3427 or 856A3576 on the drive pad seals
____ for the fuel pump, generator, and hydraulic pump.
Use the tool 856A3511 or 856A3576 on the starter pad seal.
1) Engage the claws behind the rotating ring and make the sleeve be against the rotating ring.
