(b) Cracks in the bolt holes that point out radially: 1) Not serviceable. 2) A maximum service extension of 10 cycles is permitted.

(2) Examine the combustion midflange for damage:
(a) The limits for broken bolts are as follows (Ref SB 72-416): 1) No more than 1 broken bolt is permitted and there must be a minimum of 5 bolts that are not broken on each side. 2) No more than 2 broken bolts are permitted in all groups of 20 bolts.
3) A maximum service extension of 25 cycles is permitted if no more than 10 bolts are broken and no more than 4 bolts in 20 are broken.
4) Replace the engine if you do not get these limits (Ref 71-00-02/401).
(b) Midflange for cracks:
1) None allowed

(3) Examine the fuel nozzle pads (20 locations) for damage:
(a)
Thread damage to the fuel nozzle pads:
1) More than 4 threads that are not damaged must be there after you chase the threads.
(b)
Nicks, marks, scratches and pits on the fuel nozzle pads: 1) No maximum number on the sealing surface not more than
0.03 inch (0.76 mm) in depth and is not on more than 50% of the sealing surface after you remove all of the burrs.
(c)
Particles on the fuel nozzle pads:
1) No maximum number.
2) Remove the particles.

(4) Examine the igniter and borescope bosses for thread damage:
(a) More than 3 threads that are not damaged must be there after you chase the threads.

(5) Examine the HPT shroud cooling and CDP bleed pads for damage:
(a) Nicks, marks, pits and scratches on the shroud cooling and bleed pads: 1) No maximum number, not more than 0.030 inch (0.76 mm) in
depth and not more than 75% of the sealing surface after you remove all of the burrs.

(6) Examine the LPT cooling air pad for damage:
(a)
Nicks, scores, pits, scratches on the pads:
1) Any number on sealing surface 0.030 inch (0.76mm) deep not extending across more than 75% of the sealing surface after removal of high metal.
(b)
Cracks in the bolt holes: 1) One for each hole not more than 0.06 inch (1.5 mm) in length.
2) A maximum service extension of 10 cycles is permitted for all lengths of cracks given, but there must be only one crack for each hole.

(7) Examine the insulation blanket on the air deflector for cracks.
(a)
No maximum limit, but two bolts must connect each section that is cracked.
(b)
No cracks are permitted that go radially out from the bolt holes or in the bolt tab area.

Close the left and right thrust reverser (AMM 78-31-00/201).
(9)
Close the left and right fan cowl panels (AMM 71-11-02/201).
