Look for oil leakage where the radial drive shaft goes into the fan frame. 1) It is not permitted to have oil leakage. 2) A maximum service extension of 10 hours is permitted after


 the inspection (AMM 72-62-02/601).

 (1)  Location Zones

 B.  Make an Inspection of the Fan Inlet Case (Fig. 601)

If not already done, do the procedure to prepare for the inspection.

 (2)
Examine the fan inlet case for the damage as follows:


 (a) Cracks on the fan inlet case:
 1)  Not more than one crack is permitted at a bolt hole for an acoustical panel or an OGV if it is not more than 0.08 inch
 (2.0 mm) in length and there is a separation of a minimum
 of 3 bolts holes without cracks in a circumferential
 direction.
 a) Cracks in other areas are not permitted.

 2)  A maximum service extension of 10 cycles or 25 hours is permitted for the cracks in all areas if the cracks are not more than 0.16 inch (4.0 mm) and are not less than 1.0 inch
 (25.0 mm) from other cracks.
 (b) Nicks and scratches on the fan inlet case
 1)  There is no maximum number of nicks and scratches if these limits are obeyed: a) The nicks and scratches are not more than 0.10 inch
 (2.5 mm) in depth.
 b)  The nicks and scratches have a minimum separation of 1 inch (25 mm) from other damage after all burrs are removed.

 c) You do not see indications of cracks. 2) A maximum service extension of 10 cycles or 25 hours is permitted with no maximum number of nicks or scratches.
 (c)  There is no maximum number of dents with a smooth contour not more than 0.20 inch (5.0 mm) in depth.
