If not already done, do the procedure to prepare for the inspection.

Examine the splitter fairing through the fan rotor blades for the damage that follows:
(a)
Cracks on the splitter fairing is not serviceable. 1) Replace the splitter fairing (AMM 72-33-04/401). 2) A maximum service extension of 10 cycles or 25 hours is
permitted if you find cracks.
(b)
There is no maximum quantity of damage to the protective layer.

Examine the OGV's for damage as follows:
NOTE: If the damage is more than the limits, you must replace the

OGV's (AMM 72-33-01/401).
(a)
A missing or broken OGV is not serviceable.
1) A service extension of a maximum of 10 cycles or 25 hours is permitted with a maximum of two missing or broken OGV's in only the following areas of the fan: a) 1 to 5 o'clock. b) 7 to 11 o'clock.
(b)
Cracks are not serviceable.
(c)
There is no maximum limit of erosion to the protective layer.
(d)
Nicks or dents on the leading or the trailing edges: 1) There is no maximum quantity if they are less than
0.04 inch (1.0 mm) in depth.
2) A maximum service extension of 10 cycles or 25 hours is permitted with no limit of nicks or dents to all depths.
(e) Nicks or dents on the concave and (or) convex surfaces:
1) There is no limit to the number of dents or nicks if the damage is smooth and less than half of the vane thickness. a) It is not permitted to see the damage on the opposite
side of the vane. 2) A maximum service extension of 10 cycles or 25 hours is permitted with no limit of nicks or dents to all depths.
(f) There is no maximum limit of local distortion of the leading or the trailing edges if they are less than an axial depth of
0.1 inch (2.5 mm) and a radial length of 1.0 inch (25 mm).
