ACCESSORY GEARBOX - ADJUSTMENT/TEST

1. General
_______
A. This procedure gives the leak check procedure for the oil seals on the accessory gearbox (AGB).
B. Pressurize the AGB with air (or nitrogen) and examine for air leakage at the pad drains.

2. Examine the Accessory Gearbox for Leakage

A. General
(1)
For this procedure the accessory gearbox will be referred to as the AGB.
(2)
For this procedure the transfer gearbox will be referred to as the TGB.
B. Equipment

Tubes, plastic - suitable for slip-fit over

Container - approximately 1 gallon (4 liters)
of water

Filtered air or nitrogen source - 10-12 psig
(0.7-0.8 kpa), 40 microns absolute filtration,
oil less than 40 mg for each kilogram of air,
water content at -40°F (-40°C) dew point at
atmospheric pressure, ambient temperature
