 2)  At four locations, use the bolts and a nut and two washers to attach the TGB to the fan frame.
 NOTE: CFMI SB 72-328 introduced new bolts for the TGB.
____ For engines Post CFMI SB 72-328, make sure you use the correct bolts for the installation.
 3)  AIRPLANES WITH CFMI SB 72-328;
 Tighten the bolts to 365-385 pound-inches
 (41-43 Newton meters).

 4)  AIRPLANES WITHOUT CFMI SB 72-328;
 Tighten the bolts to 180-195 pound-inches
 (20-22 Newton meters).

 (2)  Do these steps to connect the TGB to the AGB:
 (a)  
Remove the bolts and washers which attach the cover for the
 N2 drive pad to the AGB (Fig. 405).


 (b)  
Remove the cover and discard the two O-rings.

 (c)  
Install a new lubricated O-ring on the sleeve of the
 horizontal drive shaft.


 (d)  
Lightly lubricate the mating splines of the
 horizontal drive shaft with the engine oil.

 

 CAUTION: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU ENGAGE THE RADIAL DRIVE SHAFT WITH THE
_______ INPUT BEVEL GEAR OF THE TGB. DAMAGE TO THE SEALS AND THE SPLINES COULD OCCUR.
 MAKE SURE THE SEAL RING IS IN ITS CORRECT LOCATION ON THE GEAR SHAFT. DAMAGE TO THE SEAL RING COULD OCCUR.
 (e)  Do these steps to engage the TGB with the AGB: 1) Fully engage the horizontal drive shaft with the splines of the AGB gear shaft.
 2)  Make sure the horizontal drive shaft moves freely in the gear shaft splines.

3)  If the drive shaft does not move freely, do a check to make sure the AGB and TGB are installed correctly on the inlet case and the fan frame.
 (f)  
Do these steps to install the AGB locking adapter to the AGB: 1) Put the locking adapter on the drive pad. 2) Engage the adapter in the drive pad gear shaft. 3) Use the locking nuts to attach the adapter to the

 AGB housing.

 (g)  
Lightly lubricate the threads of the gear shaft.

 (h)  
Move the locking nut forward on the horizontal drive shaft. 1) Make sure the retaining ring is in its correct position in the groove of the gear shaft.

 2)  If the retaining ring is not in its correct position,
 install the locking ring again.


 (i)  
Use the 856A3604 wrench to tighten the locking nut to 1330-1590 pound-inches (150-180 Newton meters).


 NOTE: The locking nut of the horizontal drive shaft has
____
 left handed threads.

 CAUTION: MAKE SURE THE RETAINING RING IS IN ITS CORRECT LOCATION.
_______ IF THE RETAINING RING IS NOT IN ITS CORRECT LOCATION, THERE IS A RISK OF A POTENTIAL FLAME OUT.
 (j)  
Use a mirror to look through the three visualization holes to make sure that the retaining ring is in its position in the locking nut groove.

 (k)  
Move the sleeve and the spacer forward on the housing of the horizontal drive shaft until they touch the AGB flange.

 (l)  
Do these steps to install the V-clamp: 1) Install the V-clamp to attach the sleeve to the AGB flange. 2) Attach the V-clamp with a self-locking nut. 3) Tighten the nut to 50-60 pound-inches (5-7 Newton meters).

 (m)  
Remove the bolts which attach the AGB locking adapter to the AGB and remove the adapter.

 (n)  
Install one or two new lubricated O-rings on the N2 drive pad.

 (o)  
Do these steps to install the cover of the N2 drive pad: 1) Install the cover on the AGB with the five bolts which are lightly lubricated with grease.


 2)  Tighten the bolts to 95-105 pound-inches
 (11-12 Newton meters).
