the sleeve. 3) Tighten the screw then tighten the nut to make sure the rotating ring will not turn in the sleeve. 4) Install the rotating ring on the gear shaft: a) Turn the tool, through the handle, until the slots in the rotating ring align with the lugs in the bearing. b) Turn the tool in the two directions to make sure the rotating ring slots are engaged with the bearing lugs.

5) Loosen the screw and nut. 6) Remove the removal/installation tool.
CAUTION:_______DO NOT HIT THE MAGNETIC SEAL INTO THE GEARBOX RECESS. THE ROTATING RING AND SEAL CASE CAN MOVE APART AND THE CARBON SEAL CAN BE DAMAGED.
(e)
Put the seal housing on the gear shaft (Fig. 203).
1) Make sure the outer O-ring of the seal housing touches the gearbox bearing housing.
(f)
ON THE GENERATOR DRIVE PAD; Install the shroud on the gear shaft and gearbox studs (Fig. 203).
(g)
Apply a light layer of graphite grease to the three gearbox studs (Fig. 203).
(h)
Install the nuts and washers on the studs (Fig. 203): 1) Tighten the nuts with your fingers. 2) Make sure the washers touch the seal housing.
(i)
Tighten the nuts in a sequence until the seal housing goes fully into its position (Fig. 203).
(j)
Tighten the nuts to 55-60 pound-inches (6.2-6.8 newton-meters) (Fig. 203).

(5) Do one of these applicable tasks to remove access to the seal:
(a)
To install the fuel pump, do this task: Fuel Pump Package Installation (AMM 73-11-01/401).
(b)
To install the starter, do this task: Engine Starter Installation (AMM 80-11-01/401).
(c)
To install the hydraulic pump, do this task: Hydraulic Pump Installation (AMM 29-15-11/401 and/or AMM 29-15-12/401).
(d)
ENGINES WITH A CONSTANT SPEED DRIVE/AC GENERATOR; To install the constant speed drive/AC generator, do this task: Generator Constant Speed Drive Installation (AMM 24-11-11/401).
(e)
ENGINES WITH A VSCF GENERATOR/CONVERTER; To install the VSCF generator/converter, do this task: VSCF Generator/Converter Installation (AMM 24-11-11/401).

(6) Do the engine vents and drains leak check (AMM 71-71-00/601), or do the leak check for the accessory gearbox (AMM 72-63-00/501).
