3) Discard the two O-rings.
(b)
Install the AGB locking adapter.
(c)
Move the horizontal drive shaft forward into the gear shaft.
1) Do not damage the seal ring.
(d)
Move the locking nut forward on the horizontal drive shaft. 1) Make sure the retaining ring is in the correct position in the groove of the 47-tooth gear shaft. 2) If the retaining ring is not in the groove, install the
ring correctly again.
3) Install the locking nut on the gear shaft.
NOTE: The locking nut has left threads.

(e)
Tighten the nut to 1300-1600 pound-inches
(150-180 Newton meters) with a wrench (856A3604).
(f)
Move the sleeve forward on the housing for the horizontal drive shaft until it touches the AGB flange.
(g)
Install the V-clamp to attach the sleeve to the AGB flange. 1) Connect the clamp with a self-locking nut. 2) Tighten the nut to 50-60 pound-inches (5-7 Newton meters).
(h)
Remove the bolts that connect the AGB locking adapter to the
AGB.
1) Remove the adapter.
(i)
Install the cover for the N2 drive pad as follows:
WARNING: MAKE SURE YOU INSTALL THE COVER ON THE AGB WHEN THIS
_______ TASK IS DONE. IF YOU DO NOT INSTALL THE COVER ON THE AGB, THE ENGINE CAN LEAK OIL WHEN IT IS OPERATED. INJURIES TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT CAN OCCUR.
CAUTION: DO NOT INSTALL THE COVER ON THE AGB WITHOUT NEW
_______ O-RINGS. IF THE COVER IS INSTALLED WITHOUT NEW O-RINGS, THE ENGINE CAN HAVE OIL LEAKAGE. THIS CAN CAUSE ENGINE FAILURE.
1) Do these steps to attach the cover on the drive pad: a) Lubricate new O-rings with oil, CFMI SB 79-001.

b) Install the new O-rings on the cover. c) Install the cover on the drive pad. d) Install the 5 bolts on the cover as follows:
1.
Lightly lubricate the bolt threads with grease,
_ GP460, Aeroshell 8.
2.
Install the five bolts and washers.

3.
Tighten the bolts to 97-106 pound-inches (11-12
_
Newton meters). ú 4._Install a lockwire to the bolts. ú NOTE:____If no than one insert is damaged and it is ú preventing the installation of one bolt to ú secure the cover, do these steps: ú 1. Continued service is permitted until the ú next engine shop visit. ú 2. Use a temporary marking to identify the ú bolt that was intentionally uninstalled. ú

3. Examine the Accessory Gearbox for Leakage (Alternate Procedure)

A. General
(1)
This procedure is an alternate procedure to the gearbox pressurization test. This procedure gives the instructions to do the items that follow:
(a)
A leak check of the accessory gearbox and attached equipment
(b)
A check of the integrity and correct installation of the equipment output shaft O-ring 1) A check for the satisfactory seal of the carbon oil seals.
(2)
Pressurize the accessory gearbox with air or nitrogen and examine the unit for air leakage.
