A. This procedure examines the accessory gearbox (AGB) housing, mounts, lockwire, and optionally the keylock studs.
B. To get access to the AGB, you must open the fan cowl panels.

Open the fan cowl panels (AMM 71-11-02/201).

Visually examine the AGB housing:
(a)
Make sure that the AGB housing does not have cracks. 1) Cracks are not permitted.
(b)
There is not maximum limit to the number of nicks, dents, or scratches is they are less than 0.035 inch (0.9 mm) in depth (after you remove all the burrs).

(c) Visually examine the AGB for leakage: 1) If you find leakage from the pads or seals, do the leak test of the AGB (AMM 72-63-00/501).
2) If you find other signs of leakage, tighten the fittings or replace the seals as necessary.

(3) Visually examine the AGB mounts:
(a)
Make sure the AGB mounts do not have cracks.
1) Cracks are not permitted.
(b)
Make sure that the AGB mounts do not have loose bushings. 1) Loose bushings are not permitted.
(c)
Make sure that the mount pin is not loose.
1) It is not permitted to have a loose mount pin. a) If it is loose, tighten the mount pin.

(4) Visually examine the AGB for lockwire that is broken or gone.
(a) It is not permitted to have broken lockwire or lockwire that is gone. 1) Replace the lockwire as necessary.

(5) Make sure that no key lock studs are gone.
NOTE:____Four AGB pads have key lock studs. These four are the starter, generator and hydraulic pads on the forward side and the fuel pump pad on the aft side. The key lock stud is the threaded stud that attaches the AGB-mounted QAD adapters to the AGB.
