5. Valve Motor Installation (Fig. 201)

Move the manual override lever on the valve motor to position 2.

Put the valve motor on the valve and engage it with the valve cam.

Install the four screws to attach the valve motor to the valve.

Install lockwire on the screws.

(5)
Connect the electrical connector to the valve motor.

Do the task that is below to do a test of the shutoff valve.

Make sure these circuit breakers are closed and remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:
(a)
P6 panel,
1) FLT CONTR
2) STBY RUD

Make sure the FLIGHT CONTROL A and B switches (on the upper left corner of the pilot's overhead panel) are in the ON position.

Make sure the manual override lever on the shutoff valve is at position 1.

WARNING: KEEP PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT AWAY FROM THE RUDDER WHEN YOU SUPPLY
_______ HYDRAULIC POWER. THE RUDDER CAN MOVE AND CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT WHEN YOU SUPPLY HYDRAULIC POWER.

Put the FLIGHT CONTROL A switch to the STDBY RUD position and put the FLIGHT CONTROL B switch to the OFF position.

Verify the B FLT CONTROL LOW PRESSURE light is on.

Make sure the manual override lever on the shutoff valve is at position 2.

Move the rudder pedals to the left forward stop and to the right forward stop at a high rate for a total of 5 times each.
NOTE: The rudder will move left if you push the left rudder pedal.

Make sure that the rudder pedal returns to the neutral position.
