 (1)  Disconnect the steering for the nose landing gear from the rudder system.
 NOTE: It is not necessary to disconnect the steering if the
____ airplane is on jacks and the nose landing gear is fully extended.
 (a)  
Push the knob on the steering depressurization valve.

 (b)  
Put a 3/16-inch rig pin through the hole in the valve housing and the slot in the knob.

Supply pressure to rudder hydraulic systems A and B
 (Ref 27-21-00/201).

 (3)  
Operate the rudder pedals through their full travel range three times.

 (4)  
Make sure the rudder trim indicator shows zero units of trim.

Push the captain's left rudder pedal forward approximately 0.5 inch and release it.

Make sure each side of the rudder trailing edge aligns with the tab on the rudder index plate (Fig. 402).

Do the above step again for the captain's right rudder pedal.

Move the captain's left rudder pedal forward until the forward quadrant touches its stop.

Make sure the rudder movement is correct (View A-A, Fig. 402).

Operate the rudder trim knob until the trim indicator shows 10 |0.25 units of left trim.

Install access panel 9509 and close access door 9513.
