Do this task: "Remove Elevator Hydraulic Systems A and B"
(Ref 27-31-00/201).

Use the trammel bar to set the horizontal stabilizer B dimension at
41.57 |0.01 inches.

Remove the access panels 9107, 9108, 9109, 9149, and 9150, or 9207, 9208, 9209, 9249, and 9250.

Adjust the elevator seals (Fig. 502):
(a)
Make sure the elevator trailing edge aligns with the index mark on the tail cone in 0.06 inch or less.
(b)
At the ribs No. 1, 3, or 5 of the stabilizer trailing edge (Fig. 502, View A); Adjust the flat seals on each side of the elevator hinge: 1) Loosen the mounting bolts. 2) Adjust the seal to have a clearance of 0.03
+0.03/-0.03-inch between the seal and the hinge fitting. 3) Tighten the mounting bolts. 4) Make sure the clearance between the seal and the hinge
fitting is 0.03 +0.03/-0.03 inch.
(c)
At the ribs No. 1, 2, 3, and 4 of the stabilizer trailing edge (Fig. 502, View B); Adjust the bulb seals along the edge of the elevator nose: 1) Loosen the mounting bolts. 2) Adjust the seal to have a clearance of 0.03 +/- 0.03 inch. 3) Tighten the mounting bolts. 4) Make sure the seal has a clearance of 0.03 +/- 0.03 inch.
(d)
At the ribs No. 2, 4, or 6 of the stabilizer trailing edge (Fig. 502, View C); Adjust the bulb seals at the elevator front spar: 1) Loosen the seal mounting bolts.
