8) Make sure the rig pins E-2 and E-3 move freely through the installation holes of the shoulder bolts (Fig. 504).
9) Make sure the tension in cables EAR, EBR, EAL, and EBL is in +/- 10 pounds of the table value at the ambient temperature (Fig. 501).
(g) Adjust the control cables EA and EB to their correct cable rigging tension: 1) Remove the bolts from the adjustable ends of the pitch
force tranducer.
2) Use the turnbuckles to adjust the cable tension to the value for ambient temperature (Fig. 501).
3) Check the neutral position. a) Make sure the rig pins E-1, E-2, E-3, and E-5 move
freely. 4) Adjust the pitch force transducers (AMM 22-11-92/501). 5) Connect the pitch force transducers. 6) Remove the rig pins E-2 and E-3. 7) Install the shoulder bolts. 8) Install the locking clips on all the turnbuckles. 9) Remove the rig pins E-1 and E-5.

AIRPLANES WITHOUT THE MECHANICAL STOP ON THE ELEVATOR BUS CRANK; Adjust the elevator pushrods:
(a)
Make sure that the elevators are adjusted correctly at the neutral position: 1) Hold the right elevator with the trailing edge aligned with
the index mark (Fig. 505).
NOTE: Measurements are done by a straight line point to
____ point from the center of the index mark to the upper aft inboard edge of each elevator.
2) Make sure the trailing edge of the left elevator aligns with the index mark in 0.12 inch or less.
(b)
If the elevators are not adjusted correctly at the neutral position, adjust the elevator (Fig. 505): 1) Install the rig pin E-5 in the aft control quadrant. 2) Do this task: "Power Control Unit Removal" (AMM
27-31-14/401) to remove the right PCU. 3) Install the rigging and restraining tool in the position of the right PCU.
(c)
Make sure the right elevator aligns with the index mark in 0.12 inch or less.
(d)
If the elevator does not align, adjust the right rod end fitting: 1) Remove the bolt that attaches the elevator pushrod to the
crank of the output torque tube.
