WARNING: MAKE SURE YOU RELEASE THE CABLE TENSION BEFORE
_______ YOU ADJUST THE BUS ROD. IF THE CABLE TENSION IS NOT CORRECT, IT CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE CABLE AND INJURY TO PERSONS.
a) Loosen the turnbuckles in the stabilizer jackscrew
compartment to release the cable tension. b) Remove the bus rod from the jackshaft yoke. c) Install the rig pins R-3 and R-4 in the forward holes
in the forward quadrants. d) Adjust the bus rod until you can install the bolts
freely through the jackshaft yoke. e) Install the washers, spacer, nuts, and cotter pins. f) If it is necessary, adjust the pushrod to the nose
wheel steering (Ref 32-51-00/501).
(e)
Make sure that the tolerance between the cable guard block and the forward quadrant is 0.03-0.05 inch.
(f)
Remove the rig pins R-3 and R-4.
(g)
Move the captain's forward quadrant until you can install the rig pin R-3 through the aft hole in the forward quadrant. 1) Make sure that the tolerance between the quadrant and the
quadrant stop is less than 0.06 inch.
2) Remove the rig pin R-3.
(h)
Move the first officer's forward quadrant until you can install the rig pin R-4 through the aft hole in the forward quadrant. 1) Make sure that the tolerance between the quadrant and the
quadrant stop is less than 0.06 inch.
2) Remove the rig pin R-4.

Adjust the rudder pedals:
(a)
Install the rig pin R-5.
(b)
Move the forward quadrants until you can install the rig pins R-3 and R-4 in the forward holes in the forward quadrant.
(c)
Make sure that you can install the rig pins R-1 and R-2 freely on the pedal arm assembly. 1) If you can not install the rig pins, adjust the rudder
quadrant pushrods: a) Loosen the jamnuts on one or two ends of the rod assembly. b) Turn the tube to get the correct length.
NOTE: The length given of the tension rod is 36.50
