1) Seal all the lines with plugs.
WARNING: RELEASE THE CONNECTION SLOWLY AND LET THE PRESSURE
_______ DECREASE BEFORE YOU COMPLETELY REMOVE THE HYDRAULIC LINE. IF YOU DISCONNECT THE HYDRAULIC LINE WHEN IT HAS PRESSURE, A SPRAY OF HYDRAULIC FLUID CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS.
(e)
Remove the two pressure lines, two return lines, and two computer pressure lines from the feel computer.
(f)
Remove the pitot static lines from the fittings on the feel computer.
(g)
Seal the hydraulic and pneumatic lines with caps.
(h)
Seal all the open ports with plugs.
(i)
Remove the four mounting bolts.
(j)
Remove the feel computer from the airplane.

(1) Do this task: "Elevator Feel Computer Wear Limits Inspection" (Ref 27-31-37/601).

CAUTION: DO NOT LIFT THE FEEL COMPUTER BY THE INPUT ARM, OR APPLY A
_______ TORQUE OF MORE THAN 300 POUND-INCHES TO THE INPUT ARM. THE FEEL COMPUTER IS VERY SENSITIVE AND CAN BE EASILY DAMAGED.
(2)
If you replace the feel computer, prepare the replacement computer:
(a)
Lightly lubricate the O-rings with Skydrol Assembly Lube.
(b)
Install the pneumatic and hydraulic fittings in the feel computer.
(c)
Set the B dimension at 41.57 |0.01 inches (Fig. 401).

Remove the safety pin.

Install the rig pin E-4 in the input arm (3) and the feel computer.

Install the feel computer (Fig. 402):
(a)
Set the feel computer in the airplane.
(b)
Install the four mounting bolts, nuts, and washers.
1) With the rig pin E-4 installed, make sure you can install the bolt easily by hand through the stabilizer pushrod (1) and the input arm (3).
(c)
If you cannot install the bolt, adjust the length of the pushrod (1): 1) Loosen the checknut (2). 2) Turn the rod end fitting until you can install the bolt
easily by hand.

3) Make sure the rod end extends more than half of the distance across the inspection hole in the rod. 4) Tighten the checknut (2).

Connect the spring (4) to the feel computer.
