Set the FLT CONTROL A and B switches on the P5 Forward Overhead Panel to ON.

Make sure the rudder trim indicator is in the null position:
(a)
Turn the rudder trim switch until the rudder trailing edge is within the width of the index groove.
(b)
Alternately tap the left and right pedals lightly to "seat" the feel cam roller in its detent.
(c)
Make sure the rudder trim indicator is at the zero position.

If the rudder trim indicator is not at the null position, adjust the rudder trim indicator:
(a)
Set the FLT CONTROL A and B switches on the P5 Forward Overhead Panel to OFF.
(b)
Remove the two fasteners that attach the rudder trim indicator with the aileron and rudder trim control module.
NOTE: Do not disconnect the electrical connector.

(c)
Turn the adjustment screw on the bottom of the rudder trim indicator until the indicator is at the zero position.
(d)
Install the rudder trim indicator with the two fasteners.
(e)
Set the FLT CONTROL A and B switches on the P5 Forward Overhead Panel to ON.
(6)
Remove the electrical power (AMM 24-22-00/201).
(7)
Remove the hydraulic power (AMM 29-15-00/201).

Do a Test of the Trim Control Switches

Supply electrical power (AMM 24-22-00/201).

Do a test of the aileron trim switches:
(a)
At the same time, operate the two aileron trim switches in the LEFT WING DOWN direction until the trim actuator stops.
(b)
Make sure the captain's and the first officer's control wheels turn counterclockwise.
(c)
At the same time, operate the two aileron trim switches in the RIGHT WING DOWN direction until the trim actuator stops.
(d)
Make sure the captain's and the first officer's control wheels turn clockwise.

Do a test of the rudder trim switch:
(a)
Supply hydraulic power to the rudder systems A and B (AMM 27-21-00/201).
(b)
Make sure the rudder trim indicator is at 0 |0.25 units.
(c)
Make sure the rudder is at the neutral position.
(d)
Set the rudder trim knob to NOSE LEFT until the mark on the trim knob aligns with the indicator mark on the control stand. 1) Make sure the rudder does not move.
(e)
Set the rudder trim knob to NOSE RIGHT until the mark on the trim knob aligns with the indicator mark on the control stand. 1) Make sure the rudder does not move.
(f)
Turn the rudder trim knob to NOSE RIGHT until the rudder moves. 1) Make sure the rudder moves to the correct direction.
(g)
Turn the rudder trim knob to NOSE LEFT until the rudder moves. 1) Make sure the rudder moves to the correct direction.
(h)
Make sure the rudder trim knob operates smoothly.
(i)
Make sure the rudder trim knob goes back to the center freely.
