 4)  Make sure the compression gage shows between 51.0 to 82.0 pounds.
 (f)  Install the checking tool on the captain's right pedal. 1) Push on the tool handle until the captain's right pedal is
 3.60 |0.10 inches forward from the neutral position.
 2)  Make sure the compression gage shows between 51.0 to 82.0 pounds.
 (g)  
Remove the checking tools from the captain's pedals.

 (h)  
Install the checking tool on the first officer's right rudder pedal (Fig. 506). 1) Push on the tool handle. 2) When the rudders start to move, make sure the compression

 gage shows 18.0 pounds or less.

 (i)  
Install the checking tool on the first officer's left rudder pedal (Fig. 506). 1) Push on the tool handle. 2) When the rudders start to move, make sure the compression


 gage shows 18.0 pounds or less.
 3)  Push on the tool handle until the first officer's left pedal is 3.60 |0.10 inches forward from the neutral position.
 4)  Make sure the compression gage shows between 51.0 to 82.0 pounds.
 (j) Install the checking tool on the first officer's right pedal.
 1)  Push on the tool handle until the first officer's right pedal is 3.60 |0.10 inches forward from the neutral position.
 2)  Make sure the compression gage shows between 51.0 to 82.0 pounds.
 (k)  Remove the checking tools from the first officer's pedals.

 (7)  
Do a test of the rudder travel:

 (a)  
Make sure the rudder trim indicator is at the zero unit position.

 (b)  
Supply the rudder hydraulic power systems A and B
 (Ref 27-21-00/201).


 (c)  
Set the FLT CONTROL A switch to ON and the FLT CONTROL B switch to OFF.

 (d)  
Move the captain's left pedal until the it touches the forward quadrant stop. 1) Measure the rudder travel. 2) Make sure that the movement is 21.82 |0.80 inches.

 (e)  
Move the captain's right pedal until it touches the forward quadrant stop. 1) Measure the rudder travel. 2) Make sure that the movement is 21.82 |0.80 inches.

 (f)  
Set the FLT CONTROL A switch to OFF and the FLT CONTROL B switch to ON.

 (g)  
Move the captain's left pedal until the it touches the forward quadrant stop. 1) Measure the rudder travel. 2) Make sure that the movement is 21.82 |0.80 inches.

 (h)  
Move the captain's right pedal until it touches the forward quadrant stop. 1) Measure the rudder travel. 2) Make sure that the movement is 21.82 |0.80 inches.

 (i)  
Set the FLT CONTROL B switch to STDBY RUD.

 (j)  
Move the captain's left pedal until the it touches the forward quadrant stop. 1) Measure the rudder travel. 2) Make sure that the movement is 21.82 |0.80 inches.

 (k)  
Move the captain's right pedal until it touches the forward quadrant stop. 1) Measure the rudder travel. 2) Make sure that the movement is 21.82 |0.80 inches.

 (l)  
Set the FLT CONTROL A and B switches to ON.

 (8)  
Do a test of the standby rudder actuator deadband:

 (a)  
Supply the rudder hydraulic power systems A and B
 (Ref 27-21-00/201).


 (b)  
Make sure the rudder trim indicator is at the zero unit.

 (c)  
Make sure that the rudder is at the neutral position.

 (d)  
Set the FLT CONTROL A and B switches to OFF and then set the FLT CONTROL B switch to STDBY RUD.

 (e)  
Push the rudder by hands to the right side, then slowly remove the load. 1) Move your hands away from the rudder.
