 a) Remove the bolts through the aft rod ends. b) Adjust the rod ends.
 NOTE: One-half turn at the rod end is equal to
____ approximately 0.1 inch at the tab trailing edge.
 c)  Install the bolts.
 2)  AIRPLANES WITH THE ALUMINUM TAB PUSHRODS; Fine Adjustment: a) If it is necessary, turn the pushrod tubes (turnbuckle
 style).
 NOTE: One full turn at the pushrod tube is equal to
____ approximately 0.035 inch at the tab trailing edge.
 b) Adjust the pushrod to get the final dimension, ADJ, measured at the second hinge. c) Loosen the nut on the bolt at the aft end of the tab
 rods to make sure that the tab rods are not preloaded. d) Make sure the bolt is free to move. e) If you cannot move the bolt easily by hand, do the fine
 adjustment until the bolt is free to move. f) Tighten the nut on the bolt at the aft end of the tab rod.
 NOTE: Make sure that a new nut is installed.

 CAUTION: IF THE NUTS ARE NOT TORQUED PROPERLY, THEN THE
_______ PUSHRODS CAN BECOME DETACHED AND CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ELEVATORS AND STABILIZERS.
 g)  Torque nut to 30 - 50 pound-inches. If castellated nut is used, make sure that torque remains at 30 - 50 pound-inches after alignment of the nut castellations and bolt cotter pin holes. If non castellated nuts are used, torque to 50 - 80 pound-inches.
 h)  Tighten the four checknuts on the right elevator to 200 pound-inches.
AIRPLANES WITH THE TITANIUM TAB PUSHRODS;
 Fine Adjustment:
 a)  Turn the threaded adjustment bushing on the aft end of the pushrod tube, if necessary, to adjust the length of the tab rod.
 NOTE: One full turn of the bushing moves the tab
____
 trailing edge approximately 0.02 inch.

 b)  Adjust the pushrod to get the final dimension, ADJ, measured at the second hinge.
 c)  Loosen the nuts on each of the aft rod ends.
 d)  Make sure you can easily turn the bolt to make sure the rods are not preloaded.
 e)  Do the fine adjustments until you can easily turn the bolt.
 f)  Install and tighten the nut on the bolt at the aft end of the tab rod.
 CAUTION: IF NUTS ARE NOT TORQUED PROPERLY THEN THE
_______ PUSHRODS CAN BECOME DETACHED CAUSING DAMAGE TO THE ELEVATORS AND STABILIZER.

 g)  Torque nuts to 30 - 50 pound-inches.  If castellated

Adjust the left tab pushrods if the difference between Xi (Table 503 or Table 504) and the measured average tab position (ADJ) is more than |0.01 inch. 1) Use the same method and the same rigging fixture that you
 used to adjust the right elevator tab pushrods to adjust
 the left elevator tab pushrods.Make sure the measured Xi dimension for the left and right tab are in |0.01 inch of each other.
 NOTE: If you used the four point method, use the average
____ value "V".
AIRPLANES WITH THE ALUMINUM TAB PUSHRODS;
 Do a check of the thread engagement on the four tab rods.
 1) Make sure the rod end extends more than 1/2 of the distance

 across the inspection hole.
 a) If the thread engagement is not correct, you must do

 the course adjustment.AIRPLANES WITH THE TITANIUM TAB PUSHRODS; Do a check of the thread engagement of the rod end and the threaded adjustment bushing for the four tab rods: 1) Make sure the end of the threaded adjustment bushing covers
