Procedure

 (1)  
Install the tab mechanism:

 (a)  
Install the elevator tab pushrods through the elevator (forward to aft) to put the tab mechanism in its position.

 (b) (c) (d)  Install the crank mechanism: 1) Put the crank in its position. 2) Install the pins, washers and nuts with the heads of the pins at the inside of the crank. 3) Install the pin retainer.Install the crank arms to the horizontal stabilizer: 1) Install the bolt, bushing, washer and nut in each arm. 2) Make sure you install the two bolts with the heads pointing toward each other.Connect the elevator tab pushrods to the elevator tab. 1) Install the bushings, bolts, washers and nuts.
 NOTE:____ Make sure that a new nut is installed.
 a) b)  Install the inboard bolt with the head inboard.Install the outboard bolt with the head outboard.
 CAUTION:_______ IF NUTS ARE NOT TORQUED PROPERLY, THEN THE PUSHRODS CAN BECOME DETACHED AND CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ELEVATOR AND STABILIZER.
 c)  Torque nut 30 - 50 pound-inches. If castellated nut is used, make sure that torque remains at 30 - 50 pound-inches after alignment of the nut castellations and bolt cotter pin holes. If non castellated nuts are used, torque to 50 - 80 pound-inches.
 (2)  S 094-008Remove the rig pin E-5.
 (3)  S 864-009Do this task: "Put the Elevator Hydraulic Systems A and B Back to the Condition Before the Pressure Removal" (Ref 27-31-00/201).
 (4)  S 824-010Do this task to adjust the tab pushrods until the single measurement or the sum of the four measurements is the same as the measurements of the original tab: "Adjustment - Elevator and Tab Control System" (Ref 27-31-00/501).
 (5)  S 714-011Do this task: "Operational Test - Elevator and Tab Control System" (Ref 27-31-00/501).
 (6)  S 414-012Install the access panel 9313, 9413, 9143 or 9243.
 (7)  S 414-013Close the access door 3701.

 1.  General_______
 A.  This procedure has two tasks, one for the removal and one for the installation of the elevator feel computer (which is referred to as the "feel computer"). The procedure has these parts:
