 d)  Install the tension rod with the bolt, washer, nut, and cotter pin.
 e) Tighten the checknuts. 7) Remove the rig pins R-1, R-2, R-3, R-4, and R-5. 8) Operate the rudder pedals through one full travel cycle.

 are the same as shown on table 1, Fig. 501. 9) Loosen the seal retainer bolt. 10) Align the pressure seals at the aft pressure bulkhead with
 the RA and RB cables (Ref 27-09-17/201). 11) Install the turnbuckle locking clips. 12) Apply a thin layer of grease to the threads. 13) Make sure the threads engage correctly on the tension rods
 and bus rod. 14) Make sure the rod ends covers at least 50 percent of the inspection holes at two end of the rods (10 locations).

 (5)  S 825-021Adjust the input rod of the rudder PCU:
 WARNING:_______ MAKE SURE THAT PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT ARE CLEAR OF ALL CONTROL SURFACES BEFORE YOU SUPPLY HYDRAULIC POWER. AILERONS, RUDDERS, ELEVATORS, FLAPS, SPOILERS, LANDING GEAR, AND THRUST REVERSERS CAN MOVE QUICKLY WHEN YOU SUPPLY HYDRAULIC POWER. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
 ú ú  (a) (b) (c) (d) (e)  Supply the rudder hydraulic power systems A and B (Ref 27-21-00/201).Make sure the rudder trim indicator is at the zero unit.Move the output crank of the feel and centering unit side toside and release to make sure that the system is at the center.Install the rig pin R-5. 1) Make sure you can install the rig pin freely without movement of the arm output crank.If the rudder trailing edge is outer of the nearest side of the index tab for more than 0.50 inch, Adjust the control rod:
 WARNING:_______ MAKE SURE YOU SET THESE SWITCHES TO OFF BEFORE YOU DISCONNECT THE VERNIER CONTROL ROD FROM THE ACTUATOR INPUT CRANK. THE CONTROL ROD CAN MOVE QUICKLY AND CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
 1) 2) 3) 4)  Set the FLT CONTROL A and B switches to OFF.Loosen the two checknuts on the rod assembly.Remove the clevis bolt that connects the forward end of the rod to the input crank on the torque tube.Turn the sleeve a same number of turns and in the same direction with the rod end.
 NOTE:____ One-half turn is equivalent to 1/2 inch approximately at the rudder trailing edge.

 5)  Keep number of threads that you can see in the two parts are approximately same.
 6)  Install the clevis bolt that connects the rod to the input crank: a) Set the clevis of the rod on the input crank. b) Install the bolt assembly with a washer below the bolt
 head through the clevis and the input crank. c) Tighten the outer bolt to 50-65 pound-inches.
 CAUTION: DO NOT TRY TO TIGHTEN THE OUTER BOLT AGAIN AFTER
_______ YOU TIGHTEN THE LOCKNUT. IF YOU TIGHTEN THE OUTER BOLT AGAIN, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT.
 d) Install the locknut with the washer on the end of the inner bolt. e) Tighten the locknut to 12-15 pound-inches.
 (f)  
If the rudder trailing edge is less than 0.50 inch from the nearest side of the outer tab, Adjust the control rod: 1) Loosen the two checknuts on the rod assembly. 2) Turn the adjustable sleeve until the two sides of the

 rudder trailing edge are in the width of the index tab. 3) Tighten the two checknuts.

 (g)  
Make sure you see a maximum of 27 threads on the clevis and the sleeve.

 (h)  
Remove the rig pin R-5.

Adjust the input rod of the standby rudder actuator:

 (a)
Make sure you adjust the rudder power control unit correctly.
