GET A BUSHING. DRILL THE HOLE IN THE ROD END TO MAKE A 0.0002 TO 0.0013 INCH INTERFERENCE FIT WITH THE BUSHING. THE MAXIMUM SIZE HOLE IN THE ROD END IS 0.4379 INCH. REAM THE BUSHING TO A 0.3120-0.3130 INCH DIAMETER.
ROTATE THE BUSHING 90 DEGREES IF IT IS NOT WORN IN THIS DIRECTION.
REPLACE THE BEARING WHEN THE RADIAL PLAY IS MORE THAN 0.005 INCH BECAUSE THE TEFLON FABRIC LINER IS WORN.

 STANDBY RUDDER ACTUATOR SHUTOFF VALVE - MAINTENANCE PRACTICES

 1.  General_______
 A.  The standby rudder actuator shutoff valve (referred to as the shutoff valve) and the leading edge standby drive shutoff valve are the same type of valve.
 B.  This procedure gives the instructions to replace the shutoff valve (with the valve motor attached). This procedure also gives the instructions to replace only the valve motor. You do not have to remove the valve from the modular package to remove the valve motor.

 2.  Standby Rudder Actuator Shutoff Valve Removal (Fig. 201)_____________________________________________
 NOTE:  Use this procedure to replace the shutoff valve and the valve motor. To replace only the valve motor, use the removal and installation procedure for the valve motor.

Remove hydraulic power from the standby system (Ref 27-21-00/201).

Open these circuit breakers and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:

P6 panel,
 1) FLT CONTR
 2) STBY RUD

Remove the Shutoff Valve

 (1)  
Disconnect the electrical connector from the valve motor.

 (2)  
Remove the four bolts that attach the valve to the modular package.
