Open the access door 3701.
(3)
Remove the access panel 9313, 9413, 9143 or 9243.
(4)
Install the rig pin E-5 in the aft quadrant.

Remove the tab mechanism (Fig. 401):
(a)
Do this task to measure the elevator tab position (measured at a single point or at four hinge point locations): "Adjustment
-Elevator and Tab Control System" (Ref 27-31-00/501).
(b)
Remove the nuts, washers, bushings and bolts from the elevator tab pushrods at the aft end of the pushrods.
(c)
Remove the nuts, washers, bushings and bolts from the arms that attach the forward end of the crank to the horizontal stabilizer.
(d)
Remove the pin retainer.
(e)
Remove the crank pins, nuts, washers.
(f)
Remove the tab mechanism from the airplane.
NOTE: You do not have to disconnect the pushrods from the
____ crank for the tab mechanism removal.
