Remove the elevator systems A and B hydraulic power (Ref 27-31-00/201).

Open these circuit breakers and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:
(a)
P6 Circuit Breaker Panel 1) SHUTOFF VALVES - FLT CONT (2 LOCATIONS)

Open the access door 1103.

Make sure that you can install the rig pin E-1 by hand in the left forward quadrant (9), but do not install the rig pin.

Remove the control column (Fig. 401):
CAUTION: NOTE AND MARK THE POSITION OF THE RING ASEMBLY (3) AND THE
_______
SPACER BELOW, DURING REMOVAL.
(a)
Remove the ring assembly (3) and the dust seal (4).
(b)
Install the rig pin E-1 in the left forward quadrant (9).
(c)
Disconnect the wire (10) at the terminal strip in the lower nose compartment. 1) Remove the clamps where necessary to release the wire.
(d)
If it is applicable, remove the electrical connector from the control column shaker. 1) Remove the connector from the end of the cable.
CAUTION:_______HOLD THE CONTROL COLUMN WHEN YOU REMOVE THE COUPLING. IT CAN FALL AND CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT.
(e)
Remove the outboard coupling bolts (8).
(f)
Remove the outboard coupling (7).
(g)
Remove the control column: 1) Lift the control column clear of the control wheel. 2) At the same time put the electrical cable of the control
column shaker down through the column. 3) Remove the clamps if it is necessary.
