Put a container below the shutoff valve to catch the hydraulic fluid.

Carefully turn and pull directly up on the shutoff valve to remove it from the modular package.

(1)
Install five 0-rings with backup rings on the valve.

Lubricate the 0-rings and backup rings with hydraulic fluid or hydraulic system lubricant.
(3)
Carefully put the shutoff valve in the modular package.

Install the four bolts that attach the shutoff valve to the modular package. Tighten the bolts to 30-40 pound-inches.
(5)
Install lockwire on the four bolts.

NOTE:____Use this procedure to replace the valve motor only. To replace the shutoff valve and the valve motor, use the removal and installation procedure for the standby rudder actuator shutoff valve.

Open these circuit breakers and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:

P6 panel,
1) FLT CONTR
2) STBY RUDDER

Remove the Valve Motor

Disconnect the electrical connector from the valve motor.
(2)
Move the manual override lever to position 2.
(3)
Remove the four screws that attach the valve motor to the valve.
(4)
Remove the valve motor from the valve.
