Adjust the Standby Rudder Actuator

(1)
If the index mark on the input crank does not align within +/-0.02 inch of the center index mark on the standby rudder actuator, adjust the input rod (Fig. 501):
(a)
Loosen the two locknuts on the input rod.
(b)
Remove the bolt that connects the input rod to the input crank.
(c)
Turn the aft rod end and the input rod together or turn the aft rod end only until the index marks align.

Supply the rudder hydraulic power systems A and B (Ref 27-21-00/201).

If the index mark on the input crank does not align within +/-0.02 inch of the center index mark on the standby rudder actuator, adjust the input rod (Fig. 501):
(a)
Loosen the two locknuts on the input rod.
(b)
Turn the input rod until the index marks align.
(c)
Tighten the two locknuts on the input rod.

Make sure you can see the threads on the rod ends through the inspection holes in the input rod.

(1) Install the lockout pin for the nose gear steering (Fig. 503) (Ref 32-00-01/201).
NOTE: It is not necessary to install the lockout pin if the
____ airplane is on jacks and the nose landing gear is fully extended.

Supply the rudder hydraulic power systems A and B
(Ref 27-21-00/201).

Set the rudder trim to zero units of trim.
(4)
Make sure the rudder is in its neutral position.
