NOTE: Keep the elevator at this position while you do the

ú ú ú ú ú ú ú 3) If aluminum tab rods are installed and the ambient temperature has changed from the ambient temperature recorded in the removal, then the elevator tab position will need to be adjusted for the temperature change. To dothis, the rig position is increased (the trailing edge ofthe tab moves down) by 0.0073 inch for each 10 degreesFahrenheit increase in temperature and decreased (thetrailing edge of the tab moves up) by 0.0073 inch for each10 degrees Fahrenheit decrease in temperature.No temperature adjustment is necessary when titanium tabrods are installed.
NOTE:____ For example: For a maintenance action which requires a subsequent flight test, the left and right elevator tab position is measured and recorded as 0.332 inch at an ambient temperature of 40 degrees Fahrenheit. After the maintenance action is complete and the tab control rods are to be adjusted, the ambient temperature is 70 degrees Fahrenheit. The tab control rods are rigged to a position of 0.310 inch.
ú ú ú (c) (d) If you install a new tab and the measurement for the elevator tab position were not recorded in the "Remove elevator tab" step of this procedure: Adjust the elevator tab system per AMM 27-31-00/501.If you install a new tab and the measurements of the elevatortab position were recorded during the "Remove the elevator tab" step of this procedure, then adjust the elevator tab per steps(b). 1) through 3) above.
