 (1)  
Install the BAC27DCT135 marker on the two quadrants.

 (c) (d) (e) (f)  Use the bubble protractor to set each control column to 6.9 | 0.8 degrees forward of a vertical line from the floor (Fig. 403).Set the control wheel at the neutral position.Move the control column inboard and at the same time engage the teeth on the connectors (13) with the mating faces on the forward quadrant (7).Install the inboard coupling (8): 1) Set the inboard coupling (8) on the forward quadrant (7). 2) Install the coupling bolts (9).
 NOTE:____  Make sure you use the correct bolt.

 3)  Tighten the coupling bolts (9) to get a clearance of 0.03 inch at each end of the coupling clamp.
 a) b) c)  Tighten the bolts to the range of run-on torque.Tighten one bolt and the other in approximately 10 pound-inch increments until you get the clearance.The last torque should be 50-70 pound-inches.

 (5)  Adjust the shims (11) below the bearing housings (10): (a) Make sure the clearance between the forward quadrant and the lower chord of the floor beam is 0.06 inch minimum through the full travel of the quadrant. (b) Make sure the total clearance (sum of the clearances of the two quadrants) between the bearing (12) and the connector (13) is 0.01-0.02 inch.
 (c)  1) Measure the clearance at one of the two quadrants with the connector against the bearing at the other quadrant.Make sure the total side play of the control column assembly is 0.01-0.03 inch.
 (d)  Make sure the outboard end of the stop on the left forward quadrant is clear of the inboard face of the bracket by 0.07-0.24 inch.
 (e)  Install the cable support fairlead to each forward quadrant.

 (6)  Install the ring assembly (3) and the dust seal (4).

 (7)  If it is necessary, adjust the dust cap (2) to set the edge of the dust seal (4) lightly against the dust cap.

 (8)  Remove the rig pin E-1 from the forward quadrant.
